THAT IS A MIGHTY PROMISE

Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jeremiah 32:17

"Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.

Our Mighty God, that’s who we are thinking about today. He is a mighty God. Jeremiah is a prophet in the Old Testament, and he has this beautifully crafted scripture that talks about how great, how mighty God is, and you just read it, Jeremiah 32:17. "Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.

It is interesting because this verses starts with this word called ah. Now, ah is a Hebrew word, and it means a painful groan. It’s like a ahhhhh! “Ah!” We have said that when we see the prices rising on groceries or building supplies. I say it when I go to get gas for more vehicle the day of the price increase. Up 6 cents per litre from the day before.

That’s how Jeremiah started this verse, and then he goes in to say, “Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm.” What’s too hard for God? “Nothing is too hard for You.”

Maybe today you’ve got some problems. Most of us do. Maybe your relationships are a mess. Jeremiah says, nothing is too hard for God. Maybe you lost your job, or your hours have been cut back, or your business is struggling, and you don’t know where to turn, Jeremiah says, nothing is too hard for God. Perhaps you have been struggling with physical or mental/emotional issues, Jeremiah says “Let me tell you today, nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing is too hard or difficult for God." God is the MIGHTY God. He is all powerful. He is all knowing. He is almighty.

Where is God’s power at work in your life? You see, if you are like me, when things are discouraging and difficult, and life seems to have gone off the rails, all I focus on is how bad things are, or how life isn’t how I wanted it. I am growing in this area, one thing I have discovered and have learned is that we just may not see God’s power at work in our life because we are locked into a certain way that we want to see our life unfold. Can you relate? It is in those times that I hear God speak to me from the Old Testament passage from Isaiah 55:8-9

8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

In other words, God’s ways and thoughts toward us will go beyond our highest dreams and desires. I, We, can count on that because as we read above, Jesus, is the child that is born, and is, the son that is given, and he is the “MIGHTY GOD.” Therefore, he is the one who made the heavens and the earth by his great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for him.

Think on this bible truth today and know that JESUS’ POWER IS AT WORK FOR YOU.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, (youth in Hebrew means Olympic athlete, best of the best) and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.” Isaiah 40:29-31

“My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
